Introduction to Census Bureau Data Access for Grant Writers

Nesreen Khashan, Data Dissemination Specialist, U.S. Census Bureau

During this two-hour hands-on training, you will be introduced to the American Community Survey (ACS), the Census Bureau's largest household survey. Learn to access the more than 60 different metrics from the ACS that are updated annually at granular geographic levels. Practice accessing data from census.gov by conducting exercises in our computer lab and leave more confident to retrieve data when you get back to the office. This training will be geared toward grant writers and other non-profit practitioners seeking data for needs assessment, evaluation, and outreach purposes.
